this past january i spent a week at 5000 ft. above sea level at a yoga retreat in costa rica www.puravidaspa.com
i was there as a get away and to recharge – it exceeded anything i imagined
and while i was there, i realized that this was the perfect spot to bring students for a week-long songwriting intensive
so, that is what we are doing- dec. 27, 2008 – jan 3, 2009 (sat. – sat....yes, over new years eve)...

Darrell's new record, Modern Hymns, is being released on August 19th on Appleseed Recordings!
This acoustic folk record features Del McCoury, Mary Gauthier, Alison Krauss, Danny Thompson, Dirk Powell, and many, many others! The album is comprised of songs written by some of the greatest songwriters in North American history, including Gordan Lightfoot, Hoyt Axton, Pat Metheny, Paul Simon, John Hartford, and many others!

Darrell Wins Americana 2007 Song of the Year!

Darrell’s tune “Hank Williams’ Ghost” won Song of the Year at the Sixth Annual Americana Honors and Awards Show Thursday night at the Ryman Auditorium. The song appears on his 2006 release The Invisible Man, on Full Light Records.
